Our Science
Our Science
We Don't Make Claims.
We Show You the Research.
Every ingredient in every protocol is backed by published, peer-reviewed studies. Here's what they actually say.
Why Most Supplement Science Is Misleading
The supplement industry loves to cherry-pick. One cell study becomes "clinically proven." A rat trial becomes "scientifically backed." Marketing departments turn preliminary findings into definitive claims.
We do the opposite. We tell you exactly what kind of study it was — human trial, animal model, or in-vitro — what the sample size was, what the limitations are, and what we still don't know. Because the real science is compelling enough without exaggeration.
Our Formulation Standards
No ingredient enters a formula without peer-reviewed studies supporting its potential benefits.
We dose at levels consistent with published research, not trace amounts for label decoration.
Every ingredient must have documented history of safe use in dietary supplements.
Every ingredient and exact dosage is disclosed. If a brand hides their formula, ask why.
The Ingredients Behind the Protocols
Each ingredient was selected for a specific role in our time-of-day protocol system.
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus)
MORNING PROTOCOLS: AM Power Stack, Energy Stack, Full Day Protocol
What the research says: Lion's Mane has been studied for its potential effects on cognitive function and nerve growth factor (NGF) production. A 2009 double-blind human trial (Mori et al.) found improved cognitive function scores in adults with mild cognitive impairment over 16 weeks. Multiple preclinical studies demonstrate stimulation of NGF synthesis through hericenones and erinacines.
Why we use it in morning protocols: Cognitive demands peak in the first half of the day. Lion's Mane is the primary ingredient in our Mushroom Coffee and Energy & Cognition Drops — both designed to be taken when your brain is most receptive to nootropic support.
Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris)
MORNING PROTOCOLS: AM Power Stack, Energy Stack
What the research says: Cordyceps has been studied for its potential effects on exercise performance and oxygen utilization. A 2010 study (Chen et al.) found improved aerobic capacity markers. Research on cordycepin (the primary bioactive compound) suggests effects on ATP production and cellular energy metabolism.
Why we use it in morning protocols: Physical energy demands are highest in the first half of the day. Our Cordyceps Energy Gummies are designed to be taken before workouts or with breakfast — when your body can best utilize the energy support.
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)
EVENING PROTOCOLS: PM Calm Stack, Complete Calm
What the research says: Reishi is one of the most extensively studied functional mushrooms. Research spans immune modulation, stress response, and sleep quality. A 2012 study (Cui et al.) found that Reishi extract improved subjective feelings of well-being and reduced fatigue in breast cancer patients. Triterpenes — particularly ganoderic acids — are the primary calming compounds under investigation.
Why we use it in evening protocols: Your nervous system needs to downshift for recovery. Reishi's researched calming properties align with the body's natural wind-down cycle. Our Reishi Relax Gummies (30-60 min before bed) and Reishi Calm Drops (in evening tea) are both timed to support this transition.
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus)
AFTERNOON + IMMUNITY PROTOCOLS: Immunity Shield, Daily Foundation
What the research says: Chaga has been studied primarily for its antioxidant properties — it contains one of the highest ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) scores of any natural food. Research also explores effects on immune function through beta-glucan content and potential anti-inflammatory properties via betulinic acid.
Why we use it in afternoon/immunity protocols: Oxidative stress accumulates throughout the day. Chaga Capsules taken with meals provide sustained antioxidant defense during the hours when cellular stress is building. It's a core component of our Immunity Shield protocol alongside Turkey Tail and other immune-support mushrooms.
Turkey Tail + Multi-Mushroom Complex
DAILY PROTOCOLS: Daily Foundation, Immunity Shield, The Works
What the research says: Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) contains PSK and PSP — polysaccharopeptides studied extensively in Japan for immune modulation. Maitake and Shiitake have independent research on immune-enhancing effects (Vetvicka & Vetvickova, 2014). The multi-mushroom approach is supported by research suggesting synergistic effects between different beta-glucan profiles.
Why we use them in daily/foundation protocols: Our 10 Mushroom Gummies combine ten species for broad-spectrum daily support — the "insurance policy" of the protocol system. Taken with lunch, they provide a foundation that every other protocol builds upon.
Adaptogenic Compounds (Ashwagandha, Turmeric/Curcumin)
VITALITY + IMMUNITY: Energy Stack, Daily Foundation
What the research says: Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) has multiple human clinical trials examining cortisol reduction and stress response — including a 2012 RCT (Chandrasekhar et al.) showing significant reduction in serum cortisol levels. Curcumin's anti-inflammatory effects are among the most studied in natural compounds, with 200+ clinical trials on record.
Why we use them in vitality protocols: Adaptogen Vitality Gummies and Adaptogen Immunity Drops combine these compounds to address the stress-inflammation axis — a key factor in daily energy levels and long-term resilience.
Why Timing Changes Everything
Most supplement brands ignore chronobiology — the science of how biological processes change throughout the day. We built our entire protocol system around it.
- 7:00 AM — Cortisol peaks. This is when stimulatory compounds (Lion's Mane, Cordyceps) have the greatest synergy with your body's natural energy production.
- 2:00 PM — Energy dips. Afternoon fatigue isn't laziness — it's circadian. Foundation compounds and adaptogens work with this rhythm rather than against it.
- 9:00 PM — Melatonin rises. Your body is signaling for recovery. Calming compounds like Reishi triterpenes align with this shift rather than fighting it.
- 24-Hour immune cycle. Your immune system doesn't run on a schedule you feel — it runs continuously. Immune-support compounds (Chaga, Turkey Tail) work best with consistent daily timing.
