Our Doses vs Clinical Studies
Most supplement companies hide behind proprietary blends and vague claims. We think you deserve the full picture — exactly what's in each product, how it compares to doses used in published clinical research, and where we fall short. This page exists because you deserve to see the numbers before you buy.
How to read this page: We list every active ingredient across all Pilly Labs products, the dose per serving in our product, and the dose range used in the clinical studies we reference. Green means our dose falls within or above the clinical study range. Yellow means it's a meaningful amount but below the typical study dose. All extracts are 10:1 concentrated unless otherwise noted — meaning 100 mg of extract is derived from 1,000 mg of raw material.
Mushroom Gummies (10-Blend)
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-Species Mushroom Extract Blend | 250 mg total | Varies by species | 🟡 |
Our take: This product is designed for broad-spectrum daily mushroom exposure, not a clinical dose of any single species. Individual species studies typically use 1,000–3,000 mg/day of a single mushroom. For targeted support, see our single-species products below.
Cordyceps Energy Gummies
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cordyceps Extract (10:1) | 200 mg (≈2,000 mg raw equiv.) | 1,000–4,000 mg/day | 🟢 |
| GABA | 25 mg | 100–200 mg/day | 🟡 |
| Ginkgo Biloba Extract | 25 mg | 120–240 mg/day | 🟡 |
| L-Glutamine | 25 mg | 5,000–30,000 mg/day | 🟡 |
| DMAE | 25 mg | Limited human data | 🟡 |
Our take: Cordyceps is the star here — at 200 mg of concentrated extract. Clinical studies on Cordyceps militaris typically use 1,000–4,000 mg of raw powder — our extract is concentrated but delivers 200 mg of active compounds on exercise performance and energy. GABA, Ginkgo, L-Glutamine, and DMAE are included as supporting ingredients at amounts below typical standalone study doses.
Adaptogen Vitality Gummies
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lion's Mane Extract (10:1) | 87 mg (≈870 mg raw equiv.) | 750–3,000 mg/day | 🟢 |
| Chaga Extract (10:1) | 87 mg (≈870 mg raw equiv.) | No human RCTs available | 🟡 |
| Shiitake Extract (10:1) | 87 mg (≈870 mg raw equiv.) | 5,000–10,000 mg/day (dried) | 🟡 |
| Maitake Extract (10:1) | 87 mg (≈870 mg raw equiv.) | 1,500–7,000 mg/day (crude fraction) | 🟡 |
Our take: Lion's Mane at 87 mg of concentrated extract. Clinical study doses for Lion's Mane typically range from 750–3,000 mg of raw powder — our dose provides daily exposure at a maintenance level, not a clinical study dose. Chaga currently has no published human clinical trials — its inclusion is based on in vitro and animal research showing antioxidant activity. We include all four mushrooms for daily adaptogenic support.
Reishi Relax Gummies
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reishi Extract (10:1) | 200 mg (≈2,000 mg raw equiv.) | 1,440–5,400 mg/day | 🟢 |

L-Theanine, Lemon Balm, Passionflower, and Valerian Root are included as complementary botanicals at amounts below their typical standalone study doses, designed to work together as part of a multi-ingredient calming formula.

Energy & Cognition Drops
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) | 500 mcg (20,833% DV) | 500–2,000 mcg/day | 🟢 |

| L-Tyrosine | 25 mg | 500–2,000 mg/day | 🟡 |
Our take: B12, Cordyceps, and Lion's Mane are the core actives — all within or at the lower end of clinical study ranges. Alpha-GPC and L-Tyrosine are included as nootropic support at amounts below standalone study doses. This is our most research-aligned cognitive support formula.
Chaga Mushroom Supplement
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic Chaga Mycelium Powder (Standardized to 40% polysaccharides) |
1,000 mg | No human RCTs available | 🟡 |
Our take: At 1,000 mg per serving with 40% polysaccharide standardization (400 mg active polysaccharides), this is our highest single-mushroom dose. However, we want to be transparent: Chaga does not yet have published human randomized controlled trials. Its inclusion is based on strong in vitro and animal research showing potent antioxidant activity (ORAC scores among the highest of any food) and traditional use spanning centuries in Siberian and Northern European cultures.
Premium Mushroom Coffee
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lion's Mane Powder | ~300 mg/serving (15%) | 750–3,000 mg/day | 🟡 |
| Chaga Powder | ~300 mg/serving (15%) | No human RCTs available | 🟡 |
Our take: 300 mg of Lion's Mane per 2g serving approaches the lower end of amounts used in cognitive support studies. This is a coffee-first product with meaningful mushroom content — not a mushroom supplement with coffee flavoring.
Vitality Mushroom Coffee
| Ingredient | Our Dose | Clinical Study Range | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lion's Mane Powder | ~500 mg/serving (5%) | 750–3,000 mg/day | 🟢 |
| Chaga Powder | ~500 mg/serving (5%) | No human RCTs available | 🟡 |
Our take: Our highest-dose mushroom coffee. At 500 mg Lion's Mane per serving, it enters the clinical study range. 1,000 mg total mushroom content per cup. This is the product for people who want meaningful mushroom doses in their daily coffee ritual.
Key
🟢 Within clinical study range — Our dose falls within or above the range used in published human studies.
🟡 Supporting amount — Included at a meaningful level as part of a multi-ingredient formula, but below typical standalone clinical study doses. Or: no human clinical trials exist yet for this ingredient.
Our Methodology
Clinical study ranges are based on doses used in published, peer-reviewed human studies (randomized controlled trials preferred). Where human RCTs don't exist, we note that explicitly. "Raw equivalent" calculations assume a 10:1 extract concentration ratio, meaning 100 mg of extract is derived from approximately 1,000 mg of raw mushroom material.
